Abstract

Education represents a crucial pillar for the development and progress of societies, constantly facing the challenge of improving its quality and equity. The aim of this research was to analyze the factors influencing the quality and equity of education, identify effective strategies, and address current challenges. A qualitative methodology was used, combining descriptive, explanatory, and documentary approaches to thoroughly explore the perceptions and experiences of those involved in the educational field. This allowed for the identification of patterns and an understanding of causal relationships and underlying processes. A comprehensive review of the literature and previous research provided rigor and robustness to the analysis. The results highlight the crucial importance of educational quality in driving social advancement, underscoring the need for trained teachers, relevant curricula, and regular assessments. The essential role of educational equity in promoting social justice is also emphasized, ensuring equal access to educational opportunities and support for students in vulnerable situations. The conclusion is that education is an indispensable pillar for meeting social expectations, requiring high levels of quality, a solid commitment to equity, and a shared responsibility among governments, educational institutions, and society at large to invest in its continuous improvement.
