ROLE OF THE INFORMATION PROFESSIONAL IN THE ARCHIVE ORGANIZATION AT THE INSTITUTE FOR THE PROMOTION OF HUMAN TALENT OF PORTOVIEJO

Characterizing the role of the information manager in the Archive of the Instituto de Fomento al Talento Humano of the canton Portoviejo, Ecuador, motivates this research, the methodology used is descriptive, with a bibliographic approach to the theoretical assumptions about the role played by the manager information, documentary analysis and synthesis; Observation sheet and structured interview were applied as methods to collect data. The results show that the participating institution in this study does not have the support of an archival professional and that the processes that are developed in the archives of the Institute for the Promotion of Human Talent are basic; In the interview carried out, it is possible to detect the need expressed by the managers to have a professional in the area who with technical-scientific knowledge performs the corresponding archival processes, as a conclusion it can be indicated that the contribution of an information manager is required for the document management process and file organization, due to the fact that it is academically trained to carry out an efficient work considering that file documents keep the memory and trajectory of each institution.
