Abstract

This study analyzed asset management and its impact on storage and control within the GAD of Pedro Carbo Canton, identifying significant deficiencies in logistics and asset management processes using a mixed methodology with a descriptive and cross-sectional approach. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected through surveys of officials and interviews with those responsible for key areas, complemented by a documentary review of regulations and case studies. The results showed critical problems such as outdated manual records, lack of adequate warehouse conditions, and a lack of standardized protocols, which generate economic losses due to asset impairment and difficulties in traceability. The theoretical analysis based on models such as EOQ and TQM demonstrated that these weaknesses can be overcome through the implementation of digital technologies for inventories, the creation of technical procedure manuals, and the establishment of periodic controls. The conclusions highlight that efficient asset management requires not only adequate infrastructure but also continuous training for personnel and transparency mechanisms that involve citizens. This study provides concrete guidelines to optimize institutional logistics processes, guaranteeing the use Optimizing public resources and improving the quality of services offered to the community.
