BUSINESS RESILIENCE AND SUSTAINABILITY: THE ROLE OF COMMUNITY SELF-MANAGEMENT IN THE SANCÁN COMMUNE

Abstract
This research identified how community self-management impacts business resilience and sustainability in the Sancán Commune. The objective was to understand how self-management practices strengthen small microenterprises in the face of economic and social adversities, promoting their long-term survival. The objective was to analyze the influence of community self-management on business resilience and its effect on the sustainability of local businesses in the Sancán Commune. The methodology employed in this research process is a mixed approach, employing semi-structured interviews, owner surveys, and case analysis to obtain qualitative and quantitative data, facilitating the triangulation and validity of the results, accompanied by descriptive, bibliographic, statistical, deductive, inductive, and ambitious methods. The results show that communities that manage resources autonomously collaborate and share knowledge, strengthening their businesses' ability to adapt and overcome crises, achieving greater sustainability. Furthermore, social cohesion and community leadership were found to be key factors in strengthening resilience. As an innovative finding, this research highlights the importance of implementing a self-management model based on collaborative practices that can be replicated in other sectors with similar contexts to promote resilience. In conclusion, community self-management is an effective resilience and sustainability strategy, aiming to ensure business continuity in rural and urban communities in the Sancán Commune, contributing to local socioeconomic stability.
