Abstract

Nuck's canal hydrocele is a medical condition that is uncommon in girls and occurs due to incomplete closure of Nuck's canal. The Nuck's canal is defined as a peritoneal sac with abnormal permeability. This canal extends from a position anterior to the round ligament that supports the uterus and reaches the labia majora, which are external structures in the female anatomy. Incomplete elimination of this duct, known as a vaginal process, that remains permeable, can result in the appearance of an inguinal hernia or the development of a hydrocele. It is a structure that resembles a vaginal process that allows the passage of substances in men, and which, similarly, makes them more susceptible to developing indirect inguinal hernias, as well as hydroceles and cysts in the spermatic cord. We present the case of a 2-year-old female patient who was noticed to have a mass in the right inguinal region two days ago, with no vomiting or nausea and no fever.
