Foundation: The occurrence of accidents and illnesses in the occupational field brings economic consequences both for the company and for society. Therefore, the aim of this study is to demonstrate how the implementation of preventive health plans reduces costs by decreasing the incidence of such injuries. Objectives: To identify, through morbidity and absenteeism, the changes observed when implementing preventive health management in a food production company. Methodology: A longitudinal descriptive study was conducted with a population of 340 workers distributed across all operational and administrative areas of the company. The study, which lasted one year, analyzed morbidity, absenteeism, and insurance broker budgets to determine variations. Results: The results showed a 16.8% reduction in costs due to the implemented measures. Conclusions: The study concludes that health and occupational safety prevention measures effectively reduce morbidity and the occurrence of accidents and incidents in the workplace.
