THE SERVICES SECTOR AND ITS CONTRIBUTION TO ROCAFUERTE CANTON ECONOMIC GROWTH

The service sector is characterized by the execution of commercial activities, and over time, new activities have emerged that contribute to the strengthening of economies. Therefore, the objective of this article is to analyze the service sector and its contribution to the economic growth of the Rocafuerte canton. The methodology used employed a mixed approach, integrating both quantitative and qualitative methods. A deductive and analytical method was applied through the interpretation of the results. Additionally, a logical-historical method was utilized, along with documentary techniques to facilitate the research development. As the main results, a synthesis analysis of the service sector and its contribution to the economic growth of the Rocafuerte canton was achieved, revealing that the service sector has had a positive effect on the economic growth of the canton. Furthermore, an econometric model was proposed, determining that the dependent and independent variables have a statistically significant relationship. In other words, the dependent variable is significant to the model.
