Abstract

The use of geogrids as reinforcement in embankments offers great advantages from technical and economic points of view. Geogrids increase the stability of the structure, inducing the reduction of horizontal displacements and homogenizing the differential settlements. In this article a model for an embankment stabilization is developed, that was built in Guayaquil city, km 12 of Vía a Daule. The topography and a soil study were carried out for the model implementation to determine the necessary parameters for the design and computational analysis. From that studies, it was possible to evaluate the final model with the geogrids inclusions for the embankment reinforcement and stabilization.
