Abstract

One of the challenges surveyors face when collecting accurate spatial data for mining applications, is the risks of obtaining data in rough terrain and in hard-to-reach or inaccessible areas. In this sense, the objective of this study was to determine the concordance factor for the estimation of earth movements in a topographic survey using UAVs and GPS. To develop this study in a first step, a review of bibliographic sources with information on topographic survey methods in mass quantification was carried out. On the other hand, a topographical survey was carried out to quantify earth movements using drones and precision GPS. of the results The compatibility of photometric methods with accurate UAV and GPS in the measurement of volume of earthworks was evaluated. In this way, the data obtained for volume estimation can be compared with each method evaluated. The main results of this study indicate that by using UAV photometric methods, the precision obtained with conventional equipment in measuring the volume of earthworks can not be achieved.
