Abstract

The initiative to build competitiveness in rural sectors generates a socioeconomic impact on these environments considered vulnerable and even lethargic by contemporary societies. Most of the time, these initiatives have a positive impact on rural communities, boosting the economy of these sectors and managing to create successful social enterprises based on what the location and mainly on what the sociocultural field can offer. However, rural areas are not always supported or protected by the state. Reciprocally, there is the problem of increased unemployment and the little or no existence of development opportunities in communities far from large cities, both considered the biggest problems in Latin America, for which Latin America continues to be the most unequal region, having taking into account the great challenge that the search for sustainable options represents for rural areas in developing countries in which the main problem is unemployment or the lack of jobs. It is precisely the lack of jobs in rural regions that forces individuals from these areas to migrate to large cities in search of opportunities to achieve better living conditions.
